Hearing
We investigate how linguistic expressions dynamically interact with auditory perception in real time. Rather than treating language as a purely descriptive system, we examine how words and metaphors activate, modulate, and sometimes recalibrate auditory representations. In particular, we explore how culturally specific metaphorical mappings (e.g., describing pitch as high/low versus thick/thin) shape perceptual sensitivity, categorisation, and memory for sound across languages.
